Mauricio Pochettino expects the Liverpool players to give 200% for Jurgen Klopp

MAURICIO POCHETTINO says Tottenham must match Liverpool’s new-found intensity if they’re to pick up the three points this weekend.

 

Spurs hosts the Reds at White Hart Lane this Saturday (12.45pm) and will be the first team to test the waters against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

And although Pochettino expects the Liverpool players to be pumped up for the game, he believes his players will similarly do their utmost to get the win.

He said: “We need to equalise the same mental level as we expect the Liverpool players are in 200 per cent commitment and are excited to play against Tottenham.

 

“You always want to impress you new manager when they arrive, you want to give your best but it’s not a worry for me.

“We need to stay in the same mental level and try to equalise their energy and play in our way.

“And we know how we need to play and we need to develop our delivery and our shots and our mentality is to try and win the game - it’s three very important points for us.”

Tottenham have not lost for seven games in the Premier League and a win could see them open up a four-point lead over the visitors.
