Luke Shaw suffered a double leg break

HECTOR MORENO claims he got the ball in the challenge that broke Luke Shaw's leg.

The Manchester United defender suffered a double break in their Champions League tie with PSV Eindhoven.
Shaw was treated on the pitch and operated on in Holland on Wednesday.

He is expected to have a second operation at some point today but Moreno has defended the challenge.
“No, no, I got the ball,” he told Dutch newspaper Eindhoven Dagblad.
“I looked back to see where the ball went and it was above the goal.

“He was lying on the pitch in a lot of pain and then I realised something was wrong, that something really bad had happened.
“When players dive or something they don’t show so much pain, I saw his pain and knew that something was wrong, and I felt bad straightaway.”
Moreno sympathises with Shaw but insists he didn't mean to hurt him.
“I never meant to hurt him, I just meant to get the ball," he added.
"It was an accident, but there’s a lot of consequence, he’s out a long time now, he’s been through an operation and I just hope and pray for him and his family.”
