Destiny's PC port could be being put in motion by Bungie |
NEWS NEWS BLOG brings you the top rumours from around the World Wide Web, including Destiny's new frontier, Nintendo's NX platform plans and Mass Effect 4's online update.
Having stated during Destiny's launch last year that it would be 'crazy' to focus on another platform away from the PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360, it seems Bungie are ready to explore the new frontier of PC gaming.
The studio are looking to recruit a PC Compatibility Tester, who would need to supervise "PC hardware-specific features and ensure various systems work together across multiple PC configurations to provide a great experience.
"This is a challenging area to test, so we are only looking for the most resilient and technically minded testers," the job description adds.
With Destiny reaching Year Two in its ten year cycle, it might make for the perfect time to put together a Year One bundle that would include all three expansions, including The Dark Below, House of Wolves and the soon-to-be released, Taken King.
At the time Bungie revealed why they had left the PC platform out of their plans, with design lead Lars Bakken explaining: "When I’m playtesting and I’m trying to play PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3, that’s a lot of work. Adding another thing on there is just crazy. It’s crazy to think of right now.”

Rumours surfacing this week concerning the development of Nintendo's NX console could probe an intriguing development in the company's gaming strategy.
According to reports, The NX is not so much a singular console but actually a platform, which will include both a handheld and home console device.
The Nintendo NX would be comparable to the PS4 and Xbox One, perhaps gambling on the lifecycle of both consoles lasting as long as the last-gen Xbox 360 and PS3.
One big change from those devices, however, will be the exclusion of an optical drive and the option of syncing with the portable.
BioWare appear to be on their own quest to make sure that Mass Effect: Andromeda will have a successful online launch.
Publisher EA have kept fans guessing on what the game will be like, only knowing a handful of facts about what the finished gameplay will be like.
The BioWare team is set to expand to include an experienced operations engineer to work on several franchises, each in a different phase of development (from pre-production through to post-launch), with a focus to make sure things are both stable and reliable for launch.
"Its mission is to ensure that the online functionality for BioWare’s games meets or exceeds the performance, reliability, stability, scalability and security expectations of AAA games," the job description reads.
"The BioWare online services operations team is pivotal to ensuring a smooth and successful launch of all of BioWare’s AAA games. This team is heavily involved in preparing games for launch by performing load tests and server optimizations as well as monitoring and maintaining the entire BioWare online infrastructure."
