Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Xbox 360 and PS3: Treyarch talk transfers and improvements
Black Ops 3 doesn't allow Xbox 360 and PS3 fans to switch to new-gen
Fans have been asking if the same features that were added for the release of Advanced Warfare, the ability to data transfer from last-gen to Xbox One and PS4 will be possible with Black Ops 3.
Studio design director, David Vonderhaar confirmed on Twitter, however, that this won't be possible.
No reason was given for why but it would make sense that a year on developers would expect a big enough audience exists to not warrant the need.
The announcement for the latest instalment in the COD franchise on Xbox One, PS4 and PC came on April 26, it wasn't until June 9 that it was confirmed on Xbox 360 and PS3.
It left many fans who hadn't made the jump to new-gen consoles sweating over if the game could be squeezed onto the older Microsoft and Sony console.
Developers Beenox and Mercenary Technology were finally announced as the teams that would be bringing Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 to the wider audience.
Since then, fans have found out a little more about what to expect on the Xbox 360 and PS3, namely that it will miss out on certain features and will support a two-player campaign mode.

Vonderhaar recently revealed more on what to expect from the engine powering the new Black Ops and how things like the rendering and lighting have improved with the power of the new console.
"There has been work on the engine," he told Dualshockers.
"There has been tremendous work in the lighting, and the deferred renderer. I think that’s a lot of where that good look comes from is in the deferred rendering, the lighting and HDR stuff that’s going in there.
"There’s always been AI engine improvements, the UI and UX engine has been completely overhauled for this project, there’s a new tool for that. When you go to a new console generation you have to go and make sure that you’re working hard to take advantage of the new graphics capabilities of the next generation.
"That’s what this team had the graphics engine torn apart for a while, to make sure that we can get all that beautifulness out of it, get all of the high poly stuff, get all of the shadows, and get all the lighting, and still run at sixty."
