ARSENAL youngster Gedion Zelalem is on the brink of joining Scottish Championship outfit Rangers on loan, according to reports in Scotland.
The Daily Record claim the 18-year-old has flown into Glasgow for face-to-face talks with Gers boss Mark Warburton.
They are set to continue throughout Tuesday afternoon and a deal could be completed this week.
Zelalem would join Tottenham loanees Nathan Oduwa and Dominic Ball, who are both on similar deals at Ibrox.
Numerous English clubs were also thought to be monitoring his progress but Rangers have emerged as shock suitors.
The young attacker turned out for Arsenal Under-21s on Friday and scored a stunning solo goal in their 1-0 win over Fulham.
Born in Germany, he grew up in Berlin before moving to America in 2006 and represented the US at the Under-20 World Cup back in June.
While he is yet to make his senior debut for the Gunners, Zelalem is highly rated and thought to be a potential star of the future.
He was discovered by scout Daniel Karbassiyoon playing for Olney Rangers in the States in 2013 and was snapped up shortly after.
Comparisons have been drawn with Cesc Fabregas and he was widely praised after playing for the senior team in a pre-season Asia Cup match against an Indonesian dream team in 2013.
