Tottenham move step closer to resolving striker shortage by signing Heung-Min Son for £22m
New Tottenham signing Heung-Min Son
TOTTENHAM last night took significant steps to solve their striker shortage after signing South Korean international Heung-Min Son for £22m from Bayern Leverkusen.

Fears that Spurs would enter the season with just two recognised forwards in Harry Kane and Clinton N'Jie, a recent £8.3m acquisition from Lyons, were allayed by the purchase of the 23-year-old Son, who has impressed in the German Bundesliga with both Leverkusen and Hamburg over the past five seasons.
Son told the club's official website: "My goal has always been to play in the Premier League and I have a great opportunity to do that now with Tottenham.

"In the Premier League there are a lot of good players so I have to really work hard and be prepared to show my ability. I like to play a passing game and prefer to work with offensive players who are dominant and can scare the opponents. Bold and daring - this is how I like to try to play."
In the Europa League, Spurs have been handed a daunting group which includes meetings with Monaco, Anderlecht and FK Qarabag. The latter club play in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, which is a five-and-a-half hour flight from London.
Everton, meanwhile, have been busy themselves in the transfer market, signing the young Uruguayan prospect Leandro Rodriguez on a four-year deal.

The 22-year-old striker has arrived at Goodison Park from River Plate Montevideo for an undisclosed fee.
Rodriguez netted 19 goals in 71 games for his hometown club and is regarded by the Everton manager Roberto Martinez as a player with the potentialto develop into a real threat in the Premier League.
Martinez said: "He's a young talent - one of those elite, talented youngsters who we like to bring in.
"If you look at the amount of strikers that come through those environments, you don't get surprised about the quality of these players.
"I'm not saying that to put pressure on the boy, but he is a player we can be very much excited about in the future."
