Google just announced some MAJOR news for iPhone owners
Android-based smartwatches are now compatible with the iPhone, Google has confirmed
ANDROID based smartwatches will now work with Apple’s best-selling smartphone, Google has confirmed.

The Apple Watch no longer holds the monopoly on iPhone smartwatches.
Google has confirmed that its open-source smartwatch operating system, Android Wear, will be compatible with the iPhone for the first time.
Starting today, a number of Android Wear devices will be able to work with the best-selling Apple phone.
Just like the Apple Watch, the wearable released by the iPhone manufacturer earlier this year, Android Wear watches will be able to track their health and receive notifications from their favourite apps.

Google just announced some MAJOR news for iPhone owners
Google released an image of an Android Wear watch, built by Huawei, working with the iPhone
Like Apple’s own smartwatch, Android Wear devices will only be compatible with the iPhone 5 or newer, including the iPhone 5c, 5s, 6, or 6 Plus running iOS 8.2 or higher.
Unfortunately not all Android Wear device will work with iPhones. Google has confirmed that the LG Watch Urbane is compatible, as well as “all future Android Wear watches, including those from Huawei, Asus, and Motorola.”
Google announced the major news on its blog.
It revealed that Android Wear users can expect to be able to: “Check important info like phone calls, messages, and notifications from your favourite apps.
“Android Wear features always-on displays, so you’ll never have to move your wrist to wake up your watch.
“Set fitness goals, and get daily and weekly views of your progress. Your watch automatically tracks walking and running, and even measures your heart rate.”

It also revealed that Google Now will be compatible with the wristworn devices, writing: “receive timely tips like when to leave for appointments, current traffic info, and flight status.
“Just say ‘Ok Google’ to ask questions like ‘Is it going to rain in London tomorrow?’ or create to-dos with ‘Remind me to pack an umbrella’.”
Android Wear devices are available in a huge array of sizes, shapes and prices.
Google’s announcement means iPhone owners now have more choice than either an Apple Watch or Pebble.
It remains to be seen how third-party apps will work with Android Wear smartwatches on iOS.
