David Beckham blasted poor parenting claims over Harper's use of a dummy |
DOTING father David Beckham has blasted an article that claimed his daughter Harper could suffer from "speech or dental issues" from still using a dummy at the age of four.
After the adorable tot was pictured suckling a dummy during an outing with her proud father a few days ago, Victoria and David had been hit with articles criticising their parenting skills.
Singling out a report published by the Daily Mail which implied that Harper would face health problems in the future due to her continued use of a dummy, the 40-year-old footballing legend took to Instagram to share his annoyance.
"Everybody who has children knows that when they aren't feeling well or have a fever you do what comforts them best and most of the time it's a pacifier," he continued.
"So those who criticise think twice about what you say about other people's children because actually you have no right to criticise me as a parent."
The article claimed that Harper was "well beyond the age most health experts would advise giving a child a dummy" and that David and Victoria were putting her at risk of speech and dental developmental problems.
It continued to consult a variety of "parenting experts" who corroborated the claims.
The father-of-four is regularly seen enjoying quality time with his brood, and he frequently pays tribute to his children with heartfelt messages.
Last month, David celebrated his "amazing" youngest child's fourth birthday by sharing a black and white snap of him cuddling Harper as a baby.
In the intimate image a newborn Harper snuggles into her dad's chest as they both look towards the camera.
Sharing a photo of the article with his 10.1million followers, David went on a courageous rant defending his parenting skills.
"Why do people feel they have the right to criticise a parent about their own children without having any facts?" David asked.

He sweetly captioned the snap: "Possibly my favourite picture of Harper of all time. Four beautiful years with the most amazing little girl. Happy birthday big girl."
David also shared a shot of he and Harper celebrating in party hats, as she played with her doll in the garden.
He said: "Sweet dreams my little four-year-old. I think Harper Seven has had a fun packed day with her little friends. Good night little lady."
